Sletteviken is where a cragged coastline meets a forest. The woods change as you get closer to the water, from dense and dark to more dispersed and open. The region is a very wet area, so there is a lot of mud and moss in the valleys, and it gets drier as you clamber higher up the rocky hillsides.
Útesita
In the area there is a small dilapidated cottage that has been in my family for three generations, but due to various circumstances it has not been used for many years and no family member takes responsibility for it. In the meantime, nature has taken over and in truth the place belongs to nature. I can't explain it, but I feel a deep connection to this place I occasionally visited as a child, and where my grandmother passed away. So for the utesitte, I headed to the cottage, and then let the landscape guide me to a nearby spot - between a few trees by the water's edge, where the sun shone most of the night.
